KNOCK ON THE DOOR gives an intimate glimpse into the training of the IDF officers who shoulder the responsibility of delivering casualty notifications to families and the emotional toll this takes on them. The film was co-directed by Aya Eliya who was 13 when she lost her brother Itamar who was killed in Lebanon as a soldier in 1997.

Ohad Milstein is an award winning Israeli documentary filmmaker. He teaches cinema at Bezalel Academy of Art & Design in Jerusalem and lives in Tel Aviv. His films are studies of narrative structure powered by a strong visual component and cinematic expression that examine the boundaries of documentary filmmaking. “Summer Nights” (2021) won the Israeli Academy Award – Best Documentary and the First Prize of DocAviv Film Festival, Tel Aviv.
